Job description

Database Administrator (SQL Server)
Position Overview
We're seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage the reliability, security, performance, and availability of enterprise database environments supporting critical business applications. This role is responsible for maintaining SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery initiatives across both on-premises and Azure environments.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Perform database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Design, maintain, and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage database security, user access, and permissions following security and compliance standards.
  • Analyze query performance, indexing strategies, and resource utilization.
  • Support production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams on upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response and support change management processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience administering enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high availability.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL environments and cloud infrastructure.
