ABOUT THIS ROLE

What you'll do all day:

  • Designing and administering our database infrastructure, which includes Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres.

  • Building and managing highly available systems

  • Participating in incident calls and subsequent root cause analysis

  • Deploying systems in a Linux and/or Windows environment

  • Working with developers, infrastructure team and business units to design and deliver the data infrastructure that runs PEAK6

  • Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery procedures

  • Performance tuning at all levels (hardware, DB instance, application code, etc.)

  • Installing, testing and implementing new versions and/or updates

  • Communicating and working well within a team structure

We're looking for someone who has:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience designing/administering database infrastructure

  • Familiarity with Postgres, Microsoft, Microsoft SQL

  • Working knowledge of shell scripting (bash, python, powershell)

  • Exposure to various virtualization technologies such as VMWare and ProxMox

  • Exposure to system management and deployment platforms such as Salt, Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with 3rd party database monitoring/administration systems

  • Use of collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, Confluence and Zoom

Base Salary Range

$76,400-$95,500
