Job Summary:
Accenture Federal Services is dedicated to helping the US federal government enhance national security and improve the lives of citizens. The Database Engineer will manage and optimize database systems, ensuring performance and reliability while integrating databases into data pipelines and implementing security measures.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and optimize database systems for platform data storage infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain different data stores, ensure database performance and reliability, and work with data engineers to integrate databases into data pipelines.
• Design and implement database schemas and structures, establish database backup and recovery procedures, and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning.
• Implement database security controls and access management, monitor database health and resource utilization, and troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Manage database version upgrades and patches, implement database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and automate routine database administration tasks.
• Evaluate new database technologies for potential adoption, maintain database documentation, and provide database expertise to development teams.
• Develop and enforce database standards and best practices, conduct capacity planning for database growth, and implement database monitoring and alerting systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4 years of experience managing and optimizing databases in complex environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and/or integration with data pipelines
• Must meet DoD 8140 requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (or an additional 4 years of experience)
• Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required, depending on position
