Location: Hybrid (2 days onsite – Wednesday and Thursday)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator (Level 4) responsible for database management, design, maintenance, and optimization across enterprise systems. The role involves leading database architecture initiatives, ensuring data integrity and security, and supporting application teams with advanced SQL and PL/SQL expertise.

Roles and Responsibilities:SQL & PL/SQL Development

  • Develop, test, and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL code (functions, procedures, packages).
  • Review and analyze code for performance, scalability, and compliance with best practices.
  • Collaborate with application developers to define efficient data access strategies.

Database Architecture & Design

  • Design robust database solutions supporting enterprise applications and integrations.
  • Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for database development.
  • Plan and design hosting architecture aligned with organizational goals and technical standards.
  • Provide technical leadership in logical and physical database design for optimal performance.

Database Administration & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances in development, test, and production.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Monitor and tune database performance, availability, and security using tools such as SSMSSQL Server Agent, and third-party utilities (SolarWinds, Redgate, Idera).
  • Manage indexes, partitions, and schema to ensure optimal performance.
  • Apply patches, updates, and upgrades as required.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support

  • Proactively identify and resolve performance issues and system alerts.
  • Analyze logs, trace data, and metrics to diagnose and fix database-related issues.
  • Work closely with IT and DevOps teams to maintain server stability and uptime.
  • Create and validate physical database components and coordinate environment setup.

Data Integrity, Security & Governance

  • Implement and manage database security, roles, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and industry data security standards.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and high availability strategy development.
  • Support data warehouse teams with data migration and transformation processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • SQL / T-SQL Development: 10+ years
  • PowerShell Scripting: 6+ years
  • Azure DevOps: 6+ years
  • Scrum / Agile Environments: 6+ years
  • 12–14 years overall experience in database administration, design, and development.
  • Strong expertise in query optimizationperformance tuning, and database security.
  • Proficiency with tools such as SSMSSQL Server AgentSolarWindsRedgate, or Idera.
  • Knowledge of ETLPowerShell, and Azure SQL is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
