Overview:
Job Title : Database Administrator 1 (682875)
Location : Atlanta, GA 30303 Hybrid
Duration: Long Term Contract
The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing and securing computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Under minimal supervision, the DBA will be part of HFRD team and work with IT. Under general supervision, designs and secures computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. โ€ข Monitors database systems to ensure the enterprise functionality of the database and the availability of system data. Identifies actual and potential database problems and recommends and/or implements solutions.
โ€ข Performs physical modeling, database definition and administration functions.
โ€ข Migrates database objects from test to production environments within predefined time frames. Works with appropriate personnel in determining that objects are ready for production implementation.
โ€ข Reviews hardware and network changes, which might affect the database. Assists technical support personnel and software/hardware vendors with installation, maintenance support, software interface requirements and problem determinations and resolution. Makes recommendation to management on database software/hardware acquisitions and/or updates.
โ€ข Advises programmers on coding database access. Reviews database access language and procedures and recommends revisions to make programs run more efficiently. Designs, codes and tests SQL for applications.
โ€ข Conducts database analysis to determine the areas that will require performance and tuning. Establishes a method for monitoring and tuning the database and its utilities.
