Job description

SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database development, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions and maintaining data governance. Daily duties will be focused on maintaining data integration with customers and business partners via SQL Server Integration Services and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator. Must be proficient in T-SQL for data analytics, reporting and database performance tuning. Onsite position. Candidate should have high ambitions for innovation, growth and new technology and be ready to contribute to the maintenance, enhancement, architectural and design decisions of new solutions.
duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:
  • Design and develop high-performance, scalable, and reliable databases applications for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand business requirements and translate into efficient DB structures.
  • Ensure data integrity and security in all database operations.
  • Create and support SQL Server Integration Service packages for ETL and other automated processes
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor daily EDI activity with customers and data partners.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data related issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects using T-SQL.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Optimize database performance through query optimization and index tuning.
  • Monitor daily communications via; AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, HULFT, VAN, etc. required for ETL operations.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay up to date on the latest database technologies, tools, and trends, and continuously improve your skills.

qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience of 5 years as a Database Developer, working on large-scale, multi-terabyte databases.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and C# programming languages.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SSRS Reports and SSIS packages.
  • Solid understanding of database architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in database performance optimization and tuning.
  • Knowledge of database security and data management concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing technical and functional documentation, and user guides.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

EXTRA CONSIDERATIONS
  • Knowledge of JSON, XML and EDI (X12 & EDIFACT) data formats.
  • Experience with SCM, Order Management, Distribution, Forecasting, Pricing, and Inventory Management.
  • Ability to develop new data models, reports, and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Advanced skills in working with Excel, Access, and other similar applications.
  • Knowledge of the C# programming language.
  • Continual self-education on new technologies in & out of the office (SQL Server 2022/Azure/ML/AI)
