Senior Database Management Analyst - Position Description

Security Clearance:
  • Applicant must hold or be able to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

Responsibilities:
Senior Database Management Analysts must have knowledge of and access to program datasets and broader information systems and databases such as NSWC Corona Ship Maintenance Data Improvement Initiative (SMDII), Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Navy Data Environment (NDE), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Collaborate in the development or testing of new analytical software and techniques to comply with user requirements, specifications, and scope.
  • Consult with programs to determine the need for new or improved analytical procedures, applications, and reporting.
  • Produce written summary reports of research and analyze results.
  • Design, evaluate, recommend, and approve changes of forms, reports, and sites.
  • Develop and implement records management program for filing, protection, and retrieval of records.
  • Compile statistics from source materials such as program datasets and broader Navy information systems.
  • Display them appropriately for their intended use.
  • Write and edit technical documentation for digital products and designs, such as user manuals, testing protocols, and reports.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience providing Database Management support to Navy programs.
  • Experience with Navy Data Analytics tools.
  • DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); DoD/DoN contracting; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; Navy procedures and processes is desired.

Education / Certifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or related field.
