We are hiring for the role of Senior Data Architect. Below are the key details:

Role Overview

This is an expert/lead-level contract role supporting a state government bureau that provides technical IT support across multiple divisions and over 500 network users. The consultant will serve as the primary data architecture authority, managing enterprise data design, database operations, and analytics delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow established IT processes and coordinate with IT staff to ensure compliance with standards

  • Work closely with IT groups and business customers to define needs and objectives

  • Analyze and assess network infrastructure and operations

  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures for day-to-day operations

  • Maintain SQL database tables to track electronic records, case files, and outgoing document requests

  • Create queries and accurately interpret multiple data sets

  • Write shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and transform specialized data into formatted reports

  • Analyze business procedures and recommend data-driven process improvements

  • Develop conceptual and logical data models, data collection systems, and analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency

  • Identify and implement data migrations and case management system tuning; evaluate new or upgraded operating systems

  • Assist in developing a comprehensive long-range plan to meet bureau system requirements

  • Analyze and develop queries across technical systems to complete case work reconciliation

  • Identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Serve as data processing administrator for intake data from various entities

  • Provide staff with data resources from relevant databases for case intake, investigation, and management

  • Design and construct data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts

  • Define data architecture standards, policies, and procedures for data elements and nomenclature

  • Lead business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis, DBMS optimization, and recovery/load strategy design

  • Lead multiple projects as project leader or subject matter expert on high-complexity, cross-functional initiatives

  • Coach and mentor junior technical staff
