Job Summary:
Abacus Service Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join the Florida Department of Transportation team in Tallahassee, FL. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing database schemas while collaborating with a team to ensure data architecture meets department standards and security protocols.
Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, and optimizing database schemas to meet system requirements.
• Collaborating with a team to develop data architecture that aligns with department standards and security protocols.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) years of combined experience in database administration for the following platforms: IBM DB2, SQL Server 2016 and above, Oracle 19c and above.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently to resolve large enterprise database production issues.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
• Experience with Azure SQL is a plus.
• Experience in training and mentoring technical staff.
• Experience in developing and managing relational databases according to department standards.
