Senior Database Administrator / Data Solutions Engineer
Hybrid, Tallahassee, Florida
The position is expected to work in a hybrid environment consisting of both on-site and remote work. Fully remote work may be an option for an exceptional candidate.
Required skills:
  • Experience designing, developing, enhancing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise data solutions, including data architecture, data modeling, data quality, data integration, and reporting solutions supporting complex business applications.
  • Experience with relational database design, SQL development, database administration, and performance optimization using MySQL and Oracle, including schema design, SQL tuning, indexing, data integrity, and database security. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, or comparable relational database platforms is desirable.
  • Experience developing and implementing data quality processes, including data profiling, data validation, data cleansing, data reconciliation, integrity checks, and establishing data quality standards and controls.
  • Experience designing and supporting data integration solutions involving MySQL, Oracle, and other enterprise database platforms, including ETL/ELT processes, data migration, data exchanges, APIs, middleware, and integration between enterprise systems.
  • Experience using database development, administration, monitoring, and DevOps tools, including MySQL tools, Oracle SQL Developer, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar technologies.Experience implementing database security, access controls, governance practices, and compliance requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise data.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services, including Oracle cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure data services, Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud databases, data lakes, data warehouses, or similar modern data architectures.

The client is seeking Application Development Analysts to assist in the application design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and customer support of the Court Application Processing Systems and Digital Court Recording System, providing data and reports, analyzing the technical feasibility of proposed projects, resolving complex software problems, developing new productivity tools and methodologies, and providing production support.
The essential function of the staff contractor(s) within the organization will be to develop and maintain enterprise applications using LAMP stack, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and various database platform integrations. Candidates with knowledge of, or experience with, cloud technologies, enterprise architecture, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will be given preference.
General Characteristics
  • Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.
  • Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.
  • Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
  • This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

Dimensions Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.
Complexity:
  • Intermediate professional level role.
  • Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data.
  • Works on multiple projects as a project leader or sometimes as a project advisor.
  • May coach more junior technical staff
