Description
The Department of Undergraduate Social Work at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Administrative Assistant position.
Examples of Duties
Provide administrative support to the Program Chair, field education operations, & coordinate daily program operations.
Serve as the central point of contact for students, faculty, staff, prospective students, and community partners.
Manage calendars, prepare meeting agendas/minutes, schedule meetings, coordinate appointments, and maintain records for program activities.
Maintain student records, databases, and program files in compliance with university policies and accreditation standards.
Assist with student recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, events, graduation activities, and other student success initiatives.
Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, workshops, accreditation activities, and special events.
Support program communications, budget-related documentation, purchasing requests, travel arrangements, and reimbursement processes.
Compile data, prepare reports, and assist with accreditation, assessment, and program evaluation efforts.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and university departments to support program initiatives, community engagement, and the overall mission of the BSW Program.
Perform other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications
Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3 + years of administrative experience in a higher education or professional education setting.
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
