Job description

Prominent is seeking a Database Administrator for a 6-month Contract-to-Hire opportunity. This role will support and optimize enterprise SQL Server and Azure database environments, including database migrations, modernization initiatives, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and production support.

Candidates located within commuting distance of Greenwood Village, Colorado; Berkeley Heights, New Jersey; or Omaha, Nebraska who are able to work fully onsite will be given preference.

  • Candidates MUST be employed on Prominent''s payroll as a W2 employee.

Azure Database Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting mission-critical SQL Server and Azure database environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure SQL technologies, database migrations, high availability solutions, disaster recovery planning, performance tuning, and operational support in enterprise environments.

This position offers the opportunity to work with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, and modern cloud database platforms supporting large-scale business applications.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Database Administration experience within Microsoft technology environments.
  • Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Experience supporting Azure SQL in multi-region environments.
  • 2+ years of experience with:
    • Database migrations and modernization projects
    • Azure SQL upgrades and implementations
    • Performance tuning within Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL environments
  • Experience documenting database architectures and processes using Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with routine maintenance, backup and recovery, database failover, and disaster recovery processes.
Hourly Pay Rate is $60 to $65 for this role!
