Database Administrator (Oracle, SQL & Multiplatform)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, and other database platforms to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise data systems. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of databases while supporting business applications and development teams.
Responsibilities
  • Database Management
    • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and other DB platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
    • Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments.
    • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
  • Data Security & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain database security policies, user access controls, and encryption standards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Backup & Recovery
    • Design and manage backup/recovery strategies.
    • Perform disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Performance Optimization
    • Analyze query performance and optimize SQL code.
    • Configure indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies.
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Work closely with developers to design efficient schemas and queries.
    • Provide production support and troubleshoot database issues.
    • Document processes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and indexing.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and TSQL.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).

Preferred
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
