The Position:
The Database Manager (Senior) provides senior-level database administration and management support for enterprise systems supporting Joint Staff Command and Control (C2) operations. This role ensures database performance, security, and availability across production and contingency environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and data integrity processes.
  • Administer database security, including access controls and permissions.
  • Support database integration with applications and enterprise systems.
  • Perform testing and validation for upgrades, patches, and releases.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and support incident resolution.
  • Maintain database documentation, configurations, and procedures.
  • Support data replication, synchronization, and high-availability solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for database operations.

Additional Information:

  • On-site at the Pentagon.
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; AND
  • DoD IAT Level II certification; AND
  • 10+ years of database administration experience; AND
  • Experience managing enterprise database systems

PREFERRED:

Database Platforms

  • Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other enterprise database platforms
  • Experience supporting DoD or classified database environments

Performance & Optimization

  • Experience with query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning
  • Familiarity with capacity planning and high-availability architectures

Backup & Recovery

  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity with replication, clustering, and failover technologies

Security & Compliance

  • Experience applying DISA STIGs to database systems
  • Familiarity with database auditing and security hardening

Enterprise Integration

  • Experience supporting databases integrated with C2 systems
  • Experience working in multi-tier enterprise architecture
