Position Summary

IPTA is seeking a Database Team Lead to manage database administration and development supporting Army enterprise systems. This role requires expertise in Oracle and SQL Server databases, with a focus on performance optimization, data integrity, and security in mission-critical environments.


Responsibilities

  • Lead database administration team supporting enterprise applications
  • Manage Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments
  • Design and implement database architectures and data models
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL and T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Monitor database health and proactively address issues
  • Manage database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
  • Ensure database security and compliance with DoD standards
  • Coordinate with application teams on database requirements
  • Implement data replication and high availability solutions
  • Mentor and develop junior database administrators

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of database administration experience
  • Minimum 3 years in team leadership role
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c and SQL Server 2016/2019
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL and T-SQL development
  • Active Security Clearance Required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other open-source databases
  • Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, OCI)
  • Oracle RAC and Data Guard experience
