Overview

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County has an opening for a Human Resources Intern. Schedule can be flexible days/hours Monday-Friday, approximately 20-28 hours per week in the Summer, 10-21 hours the remainder of the year. Rate of pay is $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

This internship is designed to provide practical experience where the student will have the opportunity to utilize knowledge acquired in school in a professional nonprofit human resources environment. The HR Intern will provide support to the Human Resource Department in the areas of recruitment and hiring, database administration, departmental projects and personell file maintainence. 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist with maintaining and updating records in HRIS database, Leasrning Management System and HR Virtual Knowledge base
  • Help organize and maintain personnel files (electronic and paper), and perform accurate audits, and clean-up
  • Support employee onboarding including document collection and orientation training tracking
  • Assist with coordinating job postings and candidate communications
  • Support the preparation of HR reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Assist with tracking employee training, certifications, and compliance documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times
  • Provide general administrative support, such as filing, scanning, and document preparation
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, be able to work independently, remain flexible, and handle multiple priorities with strong attention to detail; Possess a positive demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills. .

Requirements:

Current enrollment in an undergraduate Human Resource or related degree programProficieny in Microsoft Office and internet applications.Prior work experience in an office environment and data analytics preferred.
