Job description

Our client is looking for an advance Data Steward for their team.
This is a full time position, located in Houston, onsite M-F, no sponorship at this time.
Job Description
  • Understand broadly the data use cases within our business and liaise with development teams and application owners to ensure data discovery, access and management features are meeting their evolving needs
  • Develop and execute data quality processes to ensure data being consumed by our business can be trusted and is accurate
  • Continually curate our data catalogue including performing validation of metadata, data tagging and inactivation of obsolete data
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to develop data naming rules that align with their view and allow for easy identification
  • Lead product onboardings including cataloguing of new data elements in collaboration with our data acquisition technical team
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure appropriate access rules are in place and access groups are defined and maintained
  • Ensure that data is properly classified as restricted, regulated or public as it relates to the distribution of the data in accordance with data provider contracts
  • Participate in the development of data polices including data retention, data privacy, data use and regulations
  • Provide guidance, testing support and validation as data assets, dashboards and reports are built for their area to ensure that they conform to business processes

Qualifications
  • Exposure to commodities trading environment including relevant market/fundamental data sources, types and concepts
  • 2+ years of basic Python scripting or development expertise
  • 2+ years of SQL experience and awareness of database technologies like Oracle RDBM, SQL Server or PostreSQL
  • Demonstrated technical writing expertise in a professional environment including business analysis and application usage documentation
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders
  • Business/Finance/MIS or related relevant degree
