Job description

The Master Mechanic plays a crucial role within a medium-sized team of 6 to 15 mechanics, focusing on vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance. This position involves comprehensive diagnosis and repair tasks using a blend of manual skills and advanced diagnostic technologies. The Master Mechanic also coordinates regularly with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely parts availability and quality services. While typically working standard business hours, the role often requires overtime during peak seasons to maintain operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle diagnosis and troubleshooting using electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools
  • Conduct welding tasks and repairs as needed
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure vehicle reliability
  • Participate in quality assurance to uphold standards
  • Manage parts inventory effectively and coordinate with suppliers/vendors
  • Collaborate with team members to complete work efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong skills in electrical diagnostics and welding
  • Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
