Job description

We are SLR Consulting (Canada), an 800+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Environmental Data Manager, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Role

As our Environmental Data Manager, you will lead the development and optimization of our environmental data systems across Canada and internationally. You will manage evolving data needs, support diverse project teams, and ensure highquality, accessible data. Success in this role comes from effective communication, technical expertise, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a collaborative, fastmoving environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with project staff to identify project data management needs and requirements
  • Define, organize, implement, and enforce correct data importing, data exporting, data collection, management validation, and report workflows and policies.
  • Assist with training sessions to aid employees to be able to use the data management system independently and effectively.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of data management software (EarthSoft EQuIS)
  • Establish standards and processes and help define tools to facilitate data collection, management, and reporting.
  • Implement modern technology to expand services to internal project teams and clients.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

  • 2+ years' experience in environmental data management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering/Sciences preferred.

Experience in the following:

  • Environmental Field & Laboratory Data (EDDs).
  • Microsoft Excel.
  • Electronic Data Capture.
  • EarthSoft EQuIS: EDP, Pro, Enterprise, or Collect
  • Experience with environmental software implementations in a consulting/industrial environment.
  • Experience in environmental field sampling, chemistry, analytical data validation, groundwater modeling, data analysis, and/or visualization.
  • Experience with mobile data collection using EQuIS Collect, Field Maps for ArcGIS, Survey123, and Tablogs a plus.
  • Exposure to database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic for Applications, Python, R or similar).
  • Experience with designing and automating digital workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
