Job DescriptionTheUDAF Animal Industry Division seeks a motivated and detail-oriented DataVisualization Intern with a natural curiosity for data to join our team. Thistime-limited position is ideal for someone eager to explore and uncoverinsights through data, leveraging low-code/no-code platforms to support andenhance operations. Your work will help trace animal disease outbreaks bygathering and displaying data trends, finding patterns, and identifying and anonymizingdata.
WhileArcGIS experience is a plus, it is not required. The successful candidate willbecome proficient in ArcGIS Dashboard and/or Google Data Studio and assist introubleshooting and resolving related issues. This role also involves managingthe intake, reviewing data provided by other agencies and including with in-housedata. Also, performing quality control checks, verifying information, andensuring accuracy of the data.
Key Responsibilities- Asa Data Visualization intern, you will:
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like PowerBI to provide actionable insights.
- Automate business processes using low-code/no-code platforms such as ArcGISSurvey123 and Google Data Studio.
- Partner with various teams to gather data, streamline operations, and enhanceefficiency.
- Manage the intake, review, and routing data, including quality control checks,well information verification, and accurate data.
- Produce and maintain reports for internal and public use, and ensure dataaccuracy through periodic review.
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand their responsibilities and providesupport as required.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:- Knowledge of standard business practices.
- Basic understanding of applications, data principles, and problem-solvingmethodologies.
- Ability to assess workload and effectively plan daily schedules.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multipletasks.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with operators, the generalpublic, and other government agencies.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies,and/or procedures.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:- Experience or knowledge in animal health or agriculture or a strongwillingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) andlow-code/no-code platforms (e.g., ArcGIS 123Survey, Google Data Studio).
- A natural curiosity with the ability to ask the right questions, explore datatrends, and seek innovative solutions.
