Data Visualization Manager
Hybrid in Lenexa, KS

Where Youโ€™ll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What Youโ€™ll Do

The Data Visualization Manager will lead the data visualization team with respect to architecture, design, development, and support of enterprise data visualization and analytics solutions, including requirements gathering, dashboard design, data storytelling, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization. This role oversees work prioritization and provides technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to data visualization developers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful solutions. The manager serves as a trusted advisor and collaborator to cross-functional teams by providing consultation on visualization best practices and governance to transform complex data into intuitive, engaging, and actionable visual experiences that support informed decision-making and drive improved outcomes for children's health.

  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise data visualization, reporting, and analytics solutions; Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate strategic objectives and business requirements into scalable visualization and analytics solutions that drive informed decision-making.
  • Govern the full lifecycle of visualization solutions, including design reviews, testing, deployment, production support, security compliance, change management, automation, and continuous optimization of reporting platforms.
  • Define and promote data visualization standards, governance, and best practices to ensure consistency, usability, accessibility, and adoption across the organization.
  • Design user-centric dashboard experiences, wireframes, and visualization concepts, ensuring solutions align with user personas, business workflows, and executive reporting needs.
  • Perform data analysis, profiling, validation, mapping, and quality assessments to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of data used for reporting and visualization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data structures, develop complex SQL queries, and enable scalable self-service analytics solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging visualization technologies, develop proof-of-concepts, and recommend innovative approaches that enhance data storytelling, user engagement, and business value.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members by leveraging individual strengths, fostering collaboration, and supporting ongoing professional growth.
  • Establish team priorities, balance workloads, and provide clear communication and direction to ensure successful delivery of strategic and operational objectives.
  • Build a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and open communication that encourages teamwork, constructive feedback, and effective conflict resolution.
What Youโ€™ll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Analytics, Healthcare Management, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a STEM related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years of Tableau development experience, including the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience leading data visualization projects, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering solutions that meet business objectives.
  • 3+ years of experience working with healthcare data and applying analytics to support operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making.
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing a data visualization team.
  • 2+ years of experience with Figma or similar design tools, with the ability to facilitate requirements gathering, develop wireframes, and lead design and testing sessions.
  • Solid expertise in Tableau architecture, administration, governance, performance tuning, and data visualization best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, relational database design, data modeling, normalization, and working with large, complex datasets to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with SAP Business Objects preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau Prep, ETL/ELT processes, or data integration methodologies strongly preferred.

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min:$82,000 Max: $165,000Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
