The Opportunity:
Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data and visualization engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.
As a data and visualization engineer at Booz Allen, you'll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll guide data and visualization engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Here, you'll mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience with Data analysis, such as recognizing and investigating data quality and various data types, including discerning structure and relationships within data
  • 8+ years of experience with Data visualization, such as creating charts with basic design principles
  • 8+ years of experience with Data pipeline engineering, such as executing data transformation stages
  • 6+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python, R, or SQL, for data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience working in Foundry, including building or maintaining data pipelines with Code Repository
  • Knowledge of database-driven application development and design
  • Ability to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Foundry, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to communicate data insights to business stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with business analysts or users to clarify requirements, work closely with different business groups to comprehend and respond to their reporting and dashboard needs, be self-motivated, and pay strict attention to detail
  • Experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with analytics and data science techniques, including AI/ML
  • Experience with DoD clients
  • Experience with Army data systems
  • Knowledge of front-end design and data visualization techniques and best practices
  • Knowledge of Military terms
  • Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate with multiple functional groups
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Master's degree in CS, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
