WORKFORCE DATA & REPORTING ANALYST
Power BI | SQL | Data Visualization | Operational Reporting

Location: Detroit, MI 48226
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $34.27 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Contract

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Workforce Data & Reporting Analyst to support workforce planning, workload management, operational reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

This position will collect and analyze data, develop routine and ad hoc reports, create metrics and visualizations, and provide recommendations based on findings. The analyst will also gather business requirements, write database queries, coordinate follow-up activities, and help ensure workforce and operational information is accurate and accessible.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and organizational skills, experience working with data and reporting tools, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, understandable reports and visualizations.

Responsibilities
  • Support workforce planning and workload-management activities.
  • Maintain, track, and analyze workforce and operational data.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports, metrics, and performance summaries.
  • Gather, review, validate, and organize data from multiple sources.
  • Analyze information, identify trends, and make data-supported recommendations.
  • Write and execute database queries to retrieve and analyze information.
  • Create dashboards, charts, and other visual representations of data.
  • Present data in a clear and understandable format for business stakeholders.
  • Gather requirements for reports, projects, and analytical requests.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities, including scheduling meetings, updating data, and revising reports.
  • Monitor assigned projects and reporting requests through completion.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to reports, metrics, and analytical processes.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and internal business partners.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business analytics, data analytics, computer science, mathematics, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and identify trends or inconsistencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing reports or dashboards in Power BI.
  • Experience writing queries in SQL Server or another relational database.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and reporting best practices.
  • Experience with workforce planning, operational reporting, or performance metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, charts, and data manipulation.
  • Programming or scripting experience using R, JavaScript, PHP, C++, or a similar language.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reports or analytical solutions.
