Job description

The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for a part-time Data and Records Clerk in the Registrar's Office.
This position reports to, is supervised by, and evaluated by the University Registrar. The evaluation of work performance will be ongoing and will be carried out by the University Registrar. It will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitude and general working behavior.
Job Type: PT (Non-Benefits Eligible)
Job Purpose: We are seeking a focused and detail-oriented Data and Records Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining accurate information in our company databases and spreadsheets. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent typing speed and accuracy, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
Specific Job Duties:

  • Data Input: Assume primary responsibility for all course schedule data input, and work on other data entry projects as assigned.
  • Data Verification: Review data for inaccuracies, errors, or missing information and correct them.
  • Information Management: Update existing academic records to ensure information is current. File scanned documents to student e-files.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain high levels of security and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with team members to clarify data requirements and discuss potential errors.
