We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology t In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Richmond. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating various gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring the well-being of patients under our care. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse medical cases and contribute significantly to the healthcare industry.

As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for conducting consultations, performing procedures, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Your role will involve managing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, and gastrointestinal cancers. By utilizing your medical knowledge and skills, you will make a positive impact on the health outcomes of individuals in need of specialized gastroenterological care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct consultations with patients to assess their gastrointestinal health.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging results to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
  • Educate patients on preventive measures and lifestyle modifications for gastrointestinal health.
  • Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient interactions.
Requirements:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a Gastroenterologist.
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret medical data and make informed decisions.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based care to patients.

Schedule: 7a-7a call shifts, specific dates

Setting: Inpatient

Patient Census: 3 per day

Duties: Inpatient and ER consults

EUS and ERCP required

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
