Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Transportation Data Scientist to join high-impact a high - impact team applying AI/ML to transform safety, freight, and mobility outcomes . This role is located in McLean, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The Transportation Data Engineer will design, build, and evaluate AI/ML models using multimodal transportation data to advance mobility and transportation safety. Responsibilities of the Transportation Data Scientist include: Design, develop & deploy AI/ML models for transportation use cases Build & integrate multi-source datasets addressing data quality issues Evaluate model performance & robustness & provide recommendations to improve scalability, reliability & trustworthiness Engage stakeholders via workshops/briefings, translate needs into roadmaps, proposals, & implementation strategies Collaborate cross-functionally to align with federal objectives, contribute to technical reports, monthly progress, risk mitigation & iterative model refinement Qualifications of the Transportation Data Scientist include: Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, AI, EE, Transportation Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred) 5+ years of professional data science/ML experience Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy & applied AI techniques Proven ETL/data integration with multimodal data, experience managing data quality in production-style workflows Strong model evaluation skills & testing under variable data conditions * Active Public Trust clearance
