About Weyerhaeuser

At Weyerhaeuser, we are the world's premier timber, land, and forest products company.  Sustainability is the founding concept of our business, and our values drive every decision to ensure we continue to lead the forestry industry in sustainability practices.  And we know about sustainability - we led it in the forestry industry when we planted our first seedling by hand in 1938.  We recognize that our success is dependent on the success of our people.  For over 125 years, our Weyerhaeuser team has been making a difference in the world - from the seedlings we plant, to the forests and trees we nurture, we ensure every acre is managed with diligence, patience and pride.  That's the Weyerhaeuser way.

Information Governance Team's Mission

Weyerhaeuser recognizes the critical role of data, analytics, and reporting in driving business success and gaining a competitive advantage. Our mission is to establish an exceptional information management environment that facilitates actionable analysis, safeguards vital information, ensures its integrity, and maximizes its value. The Information Governance team's primary focus is to support the execution of Weyerhaeuser's enterprise data and analytics strategy to leverage information as a business asset, enabling sustainable growth, profitability, and internal efficiency through improved data structures, reporting, analytical tools, and governance. We are also responsible for fostering a more data literate culture across the enterprise.

About the Role

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Information Governance Experienced Analyst to drive the execution and scaling of enterprise data governance practices across business domains. The analyst supports and leads execution of governance activities within defined enterprise standards and with guidance from governance leads from intake through delivery, translating governance standards into practical, scalable outcomes. This includes documenting data definitions, mapping data flows, enabling consistent application of standards, and improving data quality and transparency. Work is performed in Microsoft Purview and related tools (e.g., Power BI) to manage business glossary terms, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), lineage, and data product documentation, as well as governance reporting and dashboards. As a full-time role, this position contributes to the continuous improvement of governance processes, templates, and tools to support scalable and consistent adoption across domains.

Responsibilities

  • Apply governance standards by translating requirements into business-aligned metadata, documentation, and processes that enable consistent use of data

  • Support and lead discovery with business stakeholders and technical teams to document data creation and flows in alignment with established governance approaches to understand data creation, system flows, dependencies, and business usage, ensuring governance reflects how data is actually produced and used across systems

Metadata & Documentation

  • Ensure governance artifacts reflect real-world usage and align to enterprise standards, improving consistency and trust in governed data assets

  • Produce clear, concise, stakeholder-ready deliverables that enable adoption of governed data and support measurable increases in governed asset usage.

Data Quality, Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze and support resolution of data quality issues, inconsistencies, and control gaps, including identifying root causes across upstream systems, transformations, and data flows

  • Perform data validation and quality checks across master and transactional data, contributing to improved data quality scores and reduced defect rates over time

  • Use Power BI to analyze datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights through dashboards

  • Contribute to the compilation and publication of quarterly governance dashboards, highlighting trends in metadata completeness, data quality and adoption of governed data

Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement

  • Facilitate governance sessions and working meetings; capture decisions, risks, and actions that drive increased stewardship engagement and measurable progress against governance priorities

  • Partner across business and IT to define data, clarify business rules, and align governance requirements with system implementation, ensuring consistency between business definitions and technical execution

  • Develop and deliver training, presentations, and enablement materials to improve data fluency supporting more consistent interpretation and use of governed data across business teams

  • Support Enterprise Data Council (EDC) engagement by preparing inputs, summarizing outcomes, and maintaining visibility into decisions and actions
