Description
General Summary:
This position supports the Compliance and Quality Management department through internal data validation and auditing processes. The role ensures agency compliance by verifying that the quantity and quality of service documentation, group sign-ins, and login sheets accurately reflect medical records. Additionally, the specialist facilitates employee education, reviews electronic health records, analyzes quality and performance metrics, and supports regulatory quality and compliance initiatives. By collaborating with leadership, this position drives continuous quality improvement, enhances staff competency, and maintains alignment with federal, state, accreditation, contractual, and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
โ€ข Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance.
โ€ข High School diploma, GED equivalent or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Public Health, Human Services, or a closely related field preferred.
โ€ข Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, quality improvement, compliance, staff development, training, or related field.
โ€ข Experience conducting chart reviews, audits, or quality improvement activities preferred.
โ€ข Experience with accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, or performance improvement preferred.
โ€ข Valid Arizona Driver's License and must reside in Arizona.
โ€ข Must be at least 21 years of age.
โ€ข Must possess an AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card or be eligible for one.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
โ€ข Knowledge of behavioral health documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
โ€ข Knowledge of quality improvement principles, performance improvement methodologies, and compliance practices.

Essential Functions:
Quality Improvement and Compliance
โ€ข Review and verify service documentation (daily if indicated/needed), and other supporting documentation, sign in sheets, and logs to ensure all requirements are clearly identified and are accurate.
โ€ข Work with assigned program staff to correct any identified errors and provide support to QM, Billing, and Clinical Operations.
โ€ข Assist in conducting clinical record reviews, documentation audits, and compliance monitoring activities using established audit tools and organizational standards.
โ€ข Analyze internal audit findings to identify trends, strengths, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
โ€ข Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and summaries of quality indicators, audit results, training compliance, and performance improvement activities.
โ€ข Monitor organizational quality metrics and assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
โ€ข Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs based on quality findings, performance improvement initiatives, regulatory changes, and organizational priorities.
โ€ข Support implementation of performance improvement initiatives along by collaborating with leadership and program staff.
โ€ข Assists with internal corrective action planning, follow-up monitoring, and documentation of quality improvement activities.
โ€ข Participate in quality committees, performance improvement meetings, and compliance workgroups.
โ€ข Assist with preparation for regulatory surveys, accreditation reviews, and external audits.
โ€ข Maintain confidentiality of quality review information and protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Administrative Responsibilities
โ€ข Maintain organized records of quality improvement activities, training documentation, audit tools, reports, and educational resources as needed.
โ€ข Assist in developing and revising procedures, forms, and quality improvement documentation.
โ€ข Assist in coordinating communication regarding required training, quality initiatives, and compliance activities.
โ€ข Provide technical assistance to staff regarding training requirements, documentation standards, and quality improvement processes.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned to support Quality Improvement, Compliance, and Organizational Development initiatives.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The Data Validation Analyst will work in an office environment, telehealth, and may be required to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines or attend meetings as indicated. The position may require some travel to other organizational locations or to attend meetings.
