Job description

Overview

This position is hybrid in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

As a Data Scientist, you will partner with your manager and the Lead Data Scientist to expand the company's analytics and AI capabilities by identifying business trends, solving complex problems, and delivering actionable insights from large and diverse datasets. You will interpret results from multiple sources using a range of techniques, from statistical analysis and data aggregation to advanced machine learning and data mining.

In this role, you will design, develop, and implement best-in-class analytics and AI solutions that create measurable value for both our organization and our clients. This includes preparing large datasets, building data models, developing scalable predictive systems, and contributing to the development of advanced AI capabilities, including computer vision models, large language model applications, and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Use data analysis combined with business and economic knowledge to make recommendations that influence business direction and decision-making.
  • Define, develop, and refine analytical, statistical, and machine learning algorithms for advanced analysis, forecasting, and prediction.
  • Build scalable predictive models and production-ready data science solutions based on large and complex datasets.
  • Design, develop, and improve computer vision models for business applications and product capabilities.
  • Apply large language models to solve business problems, improve workflows, and create intelligent product experiences.
  • Contribute to agentic AI development, including designing and evaluating autonomous or semi-autonomous systems that can reason, plan, and take action across tasks.
  • Work with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, and Java, along with other technologies, to support rapid design, prototyping, analysis, simulation, and experimentation with advanced algorithms and applications.
  • Help identify exceptions, anomalies, and outliers within ConstructConnect-generated datasets.
  • Acquire, clean, and ingest data from a variety of sources to extend and improve our products and solutions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate opportunities into practical analytics and AI solutions.
  • Provide estimates for level of effort and time to completion for assigned work.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to an agile development environment.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
  • Experience building and deploying computer vision models for real-world applications.
  • Experience using large language models, including prompt design, evaluation, and application development.
  • Experience with agentic development, including building systems that use LLMs, tools, memory, or multi-step reasoning to complete tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously.
  • Familiarity with R, Python, SAS, or equivalent programming languages.
  • Familiarity with SQL or another database language.
  • Strong algorithm development skills.
  • Strong understanding of applied mathematics, statistics, and economics.
  • Experience with a range of data science techniques, including clustering, machine learning, predictive modeling, and network analysis.
  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for exploring complex problems and developing innovative approaches to reach results.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new tools, techniques, and approaches in data science and AI.
  • Strong communication skills with experience translating complex quantitative analysis into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
