Position Summary Green River College is seeking an Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor to join our team and teach courses in Data Analytics and/or Software Development. We seek instructors with a passion for technology, a love for teaching, and a desire to broaden participation in computing. Our instructors strive to inspire and motivate students to learn and to reach their full potential.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE: Green River College has four locations, including the main campus in Auburn and satellite learning centers in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, high school completion students, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly diverse.

Position Responsibilities The Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor will teach courses in Data Analytics and/or Software Development and: Create an environment where students can feel safe and can collaborate effectively with, and learn from, their peers. Green River College offers courses in Data Analytics and Software Development at a variety of levels for a wide range of students including: Introductory to intermediate web development courses (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP) Introductory to intermediate programming courses (Python, Java) Introductory data analytics courses (Python, SQL) Courses on modern software frameworks (Spring Boot, ASP.NET) Project-based learning courses, such as capstone courses A technical career preparation course Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution Have knowledge/proficiency in the areas in which you would like to teach (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Java, SQL, C#, technical career search). Have knowledge of the issues involving the underrepresentation of women and marginalized groups in computing education and in the tech industry. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Teaching/training experience in hands-on learning environments. Team leadership experience on a technical team Experience with practicing inclusive leadership and fostering an inclusive culture Three years of relevant work experience during the past five years Green River College welcomes faculty who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success.
