Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Center Storage Engineer to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical oversight of hardware and software systems, with a focus on storage area network administration.
  • Provide professional service within the parameters specified in the site's service level agreement and/or that meet or exceed the customer requirements.
  • Ensure system security is compliant with customer policy including patching and auditing.
  • Implement and maintain network standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor system utilization including data storage management, performance metrics and service levels.
  • Ensure reliable backup and recovery of necessary data.
  • Develop and maintain automated environments including reporting, event notifications and actions, software updates and service packs.
  • Report on capacity and proactively plan for additional storage.
  • Allocate storage to servers, configuring fiber channel switches, and capacity planning for the SAN, in addition to OS level support related to implementing and maintaining system security and data recovery processes, providing technical support, utilizing automation tools for delivering applications, managing assets, monitoring performance, event notifications and automating desktop support.
  • Coordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information.
  • Perform account maintenance.
  • Ensure reliable backup and recovery of necessary data.
  • Troubleshoot network communications.
  • Maintain and document SAN cabling plans. Installs, configures, administers, and optimizes servers (hardware and operating systems).
  • Interface with users as an integral part of this role.
  • Maintain network system documentation.

**Position is Contingent on Contract Award**
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass/obtain a Poly clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experience).
  • 4 years experience may be used in lieu of a Degree.
  • Knowledge of backup software technologies.
  • Knowledge of storage hardware technologies.
  • Knowledge of SAN fabric technologies.
  • Certifications: Netapp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), ONTAP or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Knowledge on backup software technologies: TSM, Netbackup, or Actifio are preferred.
  • Knowledge on storage hardware technologies: HP storage, Actifio Appliance, or Hitachi are preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAN fabric technologies: Brocade is preferred.
  • Knowledge of iSCSI and Fiber Channel infrastructure.
  • Certifications: NetApp and Vmware.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
