Quality Engineer
Shelby Twp., MI

Summary
The Quality Engineer supports the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards across manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products. This role works closely with Engineering, Operations, and Customers to ensure products meet all quality and performance expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and support overall quality systems and processes
  • Participate in APQP, PPAP, and new product launch activities
  • Collaborate with Engineering to troubleshoot production issues
  • Develop sampling plans, forms, and instructions for quality data collection and reporting
  • Work with Operations to ensure proper inspection methods and final product quality
  • Record and analyze test data using statistical quality control practices
  • Conduct internal, supplier, and layered process audits
  • Maintain and update the Corrective Action Log
  • Support Engineering Change Process (ECP) activities
  • Perform gauge calibration, repair, and preventive maintenance
  • Conduct product inspections (in-process, development studies, annual validation, PPAP)
  • Assist with customer and supplier APQP requirements
  • Support customers in cases of nonconforming material or quality concerns
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T standards
  • Complete scrap reporting and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • None

Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Experience running and programming CMM equipment (PC-DMIS) preferred
  • Understanding of automotive quality requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; OR
  • 2+ years of related quality or manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High-volume manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to pass standard pre-employment screenings
