MSG is seeking a Senior Transportation Quality Assurance Engineer to support roadway and transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Detroit Metro region and surrounding markets.
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will serve as a key technical reviewer supporting engineering teams throughout the transportation practice. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables across multiple disciplines, including roadway, bridge, and structural projects.
This position is ideal for an experienced transportation engineer who enjoys quality-focused engineering leadership, collaboration, and mentorship within a growing transportation practice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of transportation engineering plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and design deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Ensure transportation projects meet applicable MDOT, local agency, and industry standards.
  • Perform final engineering reviews and provide PE-level plan review and sign-off support in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical staff, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to support successful transportation project execution.
  • Assist in developing and improving QA/QC procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff on engineering quality standards and review processes.
  • Quickly contribute to active transportation projects within a high-volume and fast-paced environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 8-10+ years of transportation engineering experience
  • Strong QA/QC mindset and experience performing technical design reviews required
  • Experience with MDOT roadway projects and local agency transportation projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and roadway design workflows.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience is a plus
