Quality is built into everything we produce, and this role has a direct impact on what leaves the plant. As Quality Control Manager, you’ll lead the QC team at our Greenfield facility and oversee the inspections, testing, documentation, and quality processes that support production. This is a strong fit for someone who knows concrete, can lead people, and takes pride in setting a high standard for the work coming out of the plant.


Summary


We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the Quality Control department and ensure materials, production practices, and finished products meet design requirements, job specifications, company standards, and applicable industry standards. This position supports Quality Assurance and PCI audits, organizes and analyzes quality data, and works closely with production, engineering, and management to resolve quality, production, process, and efficiency issues. The role also oversees concrete mix design and testing, steel hardware inspections, QC staffing and development, and continuous improvement across the department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control department, including:

- Assistant QC Manager

- Quality Control Engineer(s)

- Quality Control Supervisor(s)

- Quality Inspectors

• Coordinate and manage the recruitment of new Quality Control personnel.

• Train and develop Quality Control Inspectors, Supervisors, and Engineers.

• Implement and sustain new technology, systems, or processes that improve the department and support better quality control.

• Ensure production practices are in compliance with the company’s Quality System Manual (QSM).

• Maintain a working knowledge of PCI MNL 116 and 117, along with applicable ACI and ASTM standards, and apply those requirements during production.

• Review job specifications and ensure quality requirements are understood and followed throughout production.

• Set the standard for quality across the plant and reinforce a strong Quality Culture with the QC and production teams.

• Lead follow-up and continuous improvement efforts resulting from PCI audits.

• Oversee the inspection process for internal and external steel hardware.

• Design, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot existing and new concrete mixtures.

• Coordinate advanced concrete and concrete-material testing as required.

• Organize and analyze quality data and report the status of quality to upper management, including:

- Quality-related costs

- Quality reports and audits from Plant, Field, and Engineering

- Processes and procedures


Knowledge / Skills

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

• Good mathematical aptitude.

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical journals is a plus.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.

• Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills.

• Knowledge of concrete mix design and ACI mix qualification procedures.

Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred.

• Concrete-related experience preferred.

• ACI and PCI Levels I, II, and III.

• Strong leadership skills.

• Material testing and laboratory experience is a plus.


Physical Requirements


• This position requires a 3:00 a.m. start time.

• Must be able to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to climb onto and down from equipment.

• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and walk lengthy distances in an industrial setting.

• Must be able to work outside in conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust.
