Summary:
Schedule:
Join the team at Maine Medical Center Portland's Sterile Processing Department in a hands-on supervisory role. MMCP Sterile Processing is a fast-paced environment supporting a high-volume operating room. As the region's only Level I Trauma Center with 40 operating rooms, the department typically supports more than 100-120 surgical cases each day.
Working primarily on the floor alongside the team, the Supervisor will oversee workflow, support staff, coordinate schedules, and help ensure efficient, high-quality service and compliance with regulatory standards.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High School education preferred. Associate Degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Requires CSD Technician Certification.
  3. Experience: Prior leadership experience on a progressive level of 2-5 yrs. required.
  4. Interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership of assigned personnel and in order to collaborate with a variety of personnel throughout the hospital to meet the needs of the department.
  5. Highly independent functioning with the analytical ability to prepare work schedules, prioritize work assignments, maintain a variety of records and assist in the development of department policies, procedures, budgets.
  6. High level of problem solving and decision making skills.
  7. Ability to utilize department and hospital wide computer software programs.
  8. Must be able to rotate off shifts for supervision of off shift staff at intervals.
