Title: Publishing Analyst (Data Processing Analyst)
Location: Pittsburgh (1 day per week from our office located at 200 Hightower Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15205)
Compensation: $30,000 - $34,000 USD annually-Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws and business needs.
Mission:
The Publishing Analyst (Data Processing Analyst) plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely publication of ocean transportation tariff data that our customers rely on to conduct global trade. This position exists to support the continued growth of Descartes' Ocean Transportation Rate Management and Publishing Services by maintaining high-quality, regulation-compliant tariff filings that reflect customers' true business intent and meet Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) requirements.
By converting complex shipment information into Descartes' proprietary systems, the Publishing Analyst helps ocean carriers, 3PLs, shippers, and intermediaries confidently fulfill FMC and STB automated tariff filing requirements.

โ€ข Accurate and timely publication of ocean tariffs and service contracts in compliance with FMC regulations
โ€ข High data integrity that reflects customers' intended commercial agreements
โ€ข Responsive and professional customer support related to tariff filings and regulatory questions

Primary Responsibilities
โ€ข Convert, enter, and maintain ocean transportation tariff data within Descartes' proprietary Rate Master application
โ€ข Process tariff updates in strict accordance with Federal Maritime Commission (FMC)/Surface Transportation Board (STB) regulations and internal quality standards
โ€ข Review and validate data to ensure it accurately reflects customer business intent
โ€ข Provide customers with filing confirmations and respond to inquiries regarding published tariffs
โ€ข Assist customers with questions related to FMC regulations, tariff filings, and system functionality
โ€ข Perform peer reviews and authorize updates completed by other team members to ensure accuracy and compliance
โ€ข Maintain organized electronic and general office records
โ€ข Support team deadlines and assist with workload fluctuations, including overtime when required
Required Qualifications
โ€ข Associate degree (2-year) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
โ€ข Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage time-sensitive and compliance-driven work
โ€ข Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
