Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the position will be responsible for the optimization of the company's use of its information assets by filling the gap between policy and technology implementation. This position will act as a subject matter expert to ensure delivery of solutions that comply with business policies and legal requirements to protect, use, and store data for the appropriate amount of time. The incumbent will place an emphasis on minimizing risk, reducing cost, and maximizing the value of information resources across the enterprise through collaboration on privacy standards.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal teams on complex projects to ensure the data retention or system requirements, user-facing privacy controls, new or existing software, and big data solutions enable the business to be data driven while protecting the data assets
  • Review past privacy events and current privacy threats to improve privacy compliance using advanced technologies and design principles to develop and implement new tools and processes
  • Maintain, manage, and prioritize hardware, software, systems and/or product backlog, while actively identifying risks, constraints, and dependencies that would impact roadmaps
  • Manage large and complex projects and enhancements, including gathering requirements, conducting research, task management, and updating key partners and stakeholders with the goal of developing solutions to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and future privacy risks
  • Work with the legal department and business unit leaders to produce data out of the archives to provide needed data pertaining to legal questions, legal hold/discovery, billing, and/or claims request
  • Write and deploy SQL to archive and/or purge data from databases and to locate, review, explain, and document data for privacy requirements
  • Identify and develop effective processes and procedures to mitigate data risk within a data structure; mitigation includes, but is not limited to, data anonymization, pseudonymization, encryption, and purging
  • Guide vendors and contractors on database and privacy standards
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams on data governance and privacy strategy
  • Mentor junior team members to ensure proper procedure and processes are followed; participate in all peer or code reviews to ensure consistent and proper coding methods

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training plus 5 years of work experience in a data privacy, protection, or IT
  • AND Demonstration of the following
  • Extensive experience writing in SQL

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, privacy engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years experience in data privacy, protection, or IT
  • Experience with data modeling and data modeling tools, such as Erwin
  • Experience with database tools such as NoSQL, SQL Server, DB2, Google Big Query
  • Experience with software tools such as Solix, OneTrust, Immuta, and Manta
  • CIPT, CIPP, CIPM, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, FAIR certification
  • Ability to learn and develop high proficiency in new technology platforms
  • Knowledge of data architecture and database structure
  • Knowledge of servers and operational characteristics of an enterprise computing environment
  • Ability to balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations
  • Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages
  • Understanding of design for software applications running on multiple platforms
  • Knowledge of data literacy: finding and managing data, cleansing data, manipulating data
  • Ability to perform operations on large datasets
  • Understanding of testing, coding and debugging procedures
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Knowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operations or process problems
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
