About the Role


A nationally recognized plaintiffs' litigation firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 4โ€“6 years of litigation experience to join its growing Data Privacy and Complex Litigation practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data privacy, data breach, consumer protection, and class action matters while contributing to a dynamic and expanding practice.


The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, experience managing substantive case responsibilities, and an interest in developing expertise in privacy-related litigation. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth, direct client impact, and meaningful involvement in high-profile, complex cases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support litigation matters involving data privacy, data breach, consumer protection, and class action claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Appear in court and participate in substantive oral arguments and hearings.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys on all phases of litigation.
  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and legal staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while managing case strategy, deadlines, and client expectations.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar and in good standing.
  • 4โ€“6 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex litigation, consumer protection, data privacy, or class action matters.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience handling depositions, drafting substantive motions, and making court appearances.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Prior experience at a mid-sized or large law firm preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Consumer privacy and data breach litigation.
  • Class action litigation, particularly plaintiff-side experience.
  • Experience with consumer protection statutes and related claims.
  • Familiarity with privacy-related litigation involving unauthorized data collection, tracking technologies, biometric information, wiretapping laws, or data security incidents.
  • Experience analyzing and litigating issues arising under evolving state privacy laws and consumer privacy frameworks.
  • Strong interest in developing a long-term practice in data privacy and complex
