The Data Operations Manager III for the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center (IIRC) manages a team of data coordinators who are dedicated to the collection, processing, and quality control of study data for complex immunotherapy clinical trials. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing data operations policies and procedures and ensuring data integrity.

Responsibilities
    Hire data collection, data control, and support staff, conduct regular performance evaluations, and handle disciplinary action, termination, and layoff issues as necessary.
  • Train staff in all areas of data collection, processing, storage, and quality control.
  • Develop data collection procedures, applying accepted data collection principles, and testing procedures for clarity and potential bias.
  • Develop and implement data management, processing, storage, and quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the development of study protocol as it relates to data operations, updating and revising protocol as required.
  • Perform quality control audits of data operations activities and coordinate quality control evaluations from outside organizations or funding sources.
  • Coordinate and oversee the investigation and resolution of data discrepancies.
  • Document quality control audit results in formal report form for presentation to and discussion with appropriate authority and/or funding source.
  • Prioritize, assign, and monitor data operations activities, ensuring that research needs and time lines are met.
  • Assist in the analysis of study data.
  • Develop and oversee the production of data operations materials and forms.
  • Write, update, and oversee the production and distribution of data operations manuals and write portions of study manuals.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development and modification of data entry screens.
  • Work with programming staff in testing data bases and in resolving data entry problems.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development and implementation of data tracking systems, ensuring hard copy and computer files are regularly and accurately maintained.
  • Serve as a liaison with Center departments, study sites, and outside organizations regarding data operations issues.
  • Develop regular and special reports and coordinate and oversee their preparation.
  • Conduct regular data operations staff meetings.
  • Represent data operations staff and issues in department meetings.
  • Manage the collection, distribution, and control of study samples and/or intervention supplies.
  • Supervises data operations and support staff.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of related experience in a research setting.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree.
  • Clinical research experience in an oncology setting.
  • Experience with REDCap.
  • Ability to work with multiple data management systems including generating reports and sourcing data from systems.
  • Ability to extract data from medical records and apply judgement in interpreting regulations, determining impacts, and knowing when to escalate questions and concerns when appropriate.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $97,822 to $146,682, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
