Job description

The Data Engineer develops, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Works with analysts, internal teams, and external vendors to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for performance. Assists with maintaining robotic process automation to increase efficiency and streamline pricing operations. Provides exceptional service to internal teams and external vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
  2. Collaborate with the Pricing Automation Manager, managers, and employees to understand data requirements.
  3. Optimize and troubleshoot data workflows for performance and reliability.
  4. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data sources.
  5. Document data processes, architecture, and workflows.
  6. Support data integration from multiple sources and formats.
  7. Assist with maintaining the robotic process automation (RPA) to increase efficiencies and streamline business operations for pricing.
  8. Assist with monitoring and evaluating the performance of implemented automation solutions and troubleshooting automation errors.
  9. Train internal teams on the available data analytics tools, pricing tools, and resources.
  10. Ensure that all performance of duties complies with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal standard operating procedures.
  11. Stay informed about the transportation industry’s best practices, trends, and market conditions, and keep abreast of new technology developments to make informed decisions.
The most qualified candidates should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analystics or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics or related field in the transportation industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks.
  • Familiar with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Azure is not required but is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, project management, analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with Mircosoft Office 365 - Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
