Job description

This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs, and funding availability.
The organization is seeking an Expert-Level Data Scientist at Offutt AFB, NE to support the Air Combat Command (ACC) in advancing information-centric decision-making capabilities across Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. The selected candidate will apply advanced data science methodologies to integrate, analyze, and exploit multi-intelligence (multi-INT) data sources in support of mission-critical objectives.
This role requires deep expertise in data analytics, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), predictive modeling, and data engineering, along with the ability to translate complex data into actionable intelligence products for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate will serve as a senior technical advisor and lead efforts to modernize analytic tradecraft through automation, advanced analytics, and enterprise data integration aligned with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced data analytics, data mining, and statistical analysis to uncover actionable insights.
  • Design and develop machine learning models, including recommendation engines and predictive systems, to streamline labor-intensive processes.
  • Build, validate, and deploy high-quality predictive models and analytical solutions.
  • Design and implement data architectures, structures, and systems to support mission requirements.
  • Support ISR operations, including SIGINT, cyber, targeting, weather, and PED processes.
  • Ensure data provenance, quality, consistency, and compliance with DoD and IC standards.
  • Develop and automate workflows for data processing, model training, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across analytical workflows.
  • Advise leadership on data analytics strategies, AI/ML initiatives, and data standards.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
This position supports sensitive programs and requires strict adherence to DoD, Air Force, and IC cybersecurity, information assurance, and intelligence oversight standards.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Candidates must meet all DOD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Training Code 423 Advanced proficiency requirements in accordance with DOD 8140.03
  • Demonstrated experience working with large-scale and complex datasets, including Multi-INT or similar data environments
  • Advanced proficiency in major data science programming languages including Python, R, and SQL
  • Deep Expertise in data visualization tools and applications, including Power BI and Tableau
  • Extensive experience managing and merging disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL

Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to comply with all DoD, Air Force, and local security and conduct standards
  • Ability to complete required training and maintain qualifications throughout the contract
  • Availability for CONUS and OCONUS support as mission requirements dictate
  • Contractor-provided training and certification upkeep (unless Government-directed)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required program, system, and facility access

Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI eligibility. A CI-scope polygraph examination may be required for some positions.
Minimum Education: Master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, OR Bachelor's degree with 5 additional years of expert-level experience (total 20 years)
Minimum Years of Experience: 15 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related field; at least part of the required experience must be within the past two (2) years.
Required Certifications:
  • Must meet DoD 8140.02 / DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Requirements
  • Appropriate DCWF role alignment (e.g., Cyber Defense Analyst, ISSO, Network or Systems Security roles)
  • Certification eligibility prior to contract performance (tracked and reported per Government standards)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in advanced analytics within intelligence, defense, or similar data-intensive domains
  • Experience in developing and deploying automated AI/ML solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The base salary range for this position is $130k to $194k. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
