Job Description

AVP - AIS Data Operations

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Associate Vice President to support Ares Insurance Solutions (AIS) on their data needs. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data across systems, reports, and regulatory submissions. You will be responsible for validating data, reconciling financial records, and maintaining high standards of data quality and compliance across multiple systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and cross-check reference, security master, and analytics data from multiple systems (e.g., trading systems, accounting platforms, market data feeds).
  • Data governance: help define and maintain data governance policies, data ownership/stewardship, data quality rules, and change-control processes across AIS.
  • Dashboards & KPIs: design, create, and maintain operational and management dashboards; define, build out, and monitor KPIs to measure data quality, operational efficiency, and business metrics.
  • Reporting support: assist with internal and external reporting requirements - supporting preparation, automation, validation, and delivery of management, regulatory, and client reports.
  • Evaluate processes and partner with crossfunctional teams to deliver datadriven recommendations that improve operational efficiency.
  • Daily investigation and resolution of data breaks, escalating issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with AIS team on attribute/logic changes and coordinate with IT on system changes and process improvements.
  • Perform accurate and timely updates to reference and master data.
  • Work with various stakeholders such as Alternative Credit, Transaction Analysis, Portfolio Compliance, Accounting, Data Team, and external clients on various data requests.
  • Perform ad hoc requests such as gathering of NAIC Principles Based Bond documentation or rating letters & distribute to external clients/cedents.
  • Maintain audit trails and documentation for all data checks and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in asset management operations, data management, or insurance & financial services with a strong focus on data governance, analytics, and business analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (e.g., alternative credit, fixed income, mortgages) and transaction lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL or financial data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Clearwater, AllVue, IVP) is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$150,000 - $170,000
