STUDENT EMPLOYEE - Division of Advancement Student Assistant / Advancement Ambassador
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Ithaca College

  • Familiarity with Ithaca College campus, activities, and history

  • Interest in helping Ithaca College

  • Good time-management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and email

  • Courteous and engaging personality

  • Able to present information concisely

  • Able to follow directions and accurately record data/details

Preferred:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with social media: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.

Description
This person supports the Division of Advancement by assisting the Engagement team with daily operations, alumni communications, data processing, and event preparation. As an ambassador, you would help strengthen relationships between Ithaca College and its alumni community while promoting student awareness of alumni engagement and institutional advancement.
You would work collaboratively with Advancement staff and report directly to the Engagement Operations Associate, receiving project-based assignments across the division.
Responsibilities
  • Answering the main phone line, transferring calls, and taking messages

  • Respond to the alumni email account

  • Provide general information to alumni

  • Processing data in our database (training provided)

  • Coding events and creating nametags

  • Gathering supplies for events

  • Other general office duties as assigned

Schedule/Hours
  • Office hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • 10-15 hours a week
