Job description

Overview:
This position is for an opening within our Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Servicing team in the Banking Services division of M&T Bank. The members of this team perform various tasks in association with M&T Bank's IRA portfolio. The team supports branch staff and other areas via telephone and email contact.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide Individual Retirement Account (IRA) guidance and customer service support via phone and email to branches and telephone center.
  • Work in conjunction with branch and Telephone Center teams to assist with standard to intermediate level of complexity account maintenance questions and support transactions.
  • Serve as first-level escalation point for problematic and non-standard type inquiries.
  • Open IRA Account in appropriate systems while performing compliance validation and system scan on new customers.
  • Review various forms of documentation to ensure accuracy for regulatory and other requirements.
  • Conduct account research and investigation to resolve exceptions, issues and/or inaccuracies.
  • Process moderate to complex data entry to the IRA operating system to reflect account maintenance updates requested by IRA account owners or their beneficiaries.
  • Contribute to a highly productive team environment and positive workplace atmosphere. Earn the trust and respect of their peers through demonstrating an ability to perform at a high level.
  • Build mutual support and alignment with peers and stakeholders to assist with problem resolution and creating process efficiencies wherever possible.
  • Embrace agile ways of working combined with personal accountability to achieve results. Utilize resources and available information to build self-development while always keeping an eye toward future goals.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years' general work experience

Schedule:
This role reports out of Commerce Drive in Amherst, NY in compliance with the Bank's hybrid model. Shift hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
