Business Operations Analyst

About your role:

As a Business Operations Analyst, you will support Network and Payment Operations by leading strategic and operational initiatives that strengthen financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across complex payment ecosystems. You will work closely with Product, Data, Technology, Legal, Finance, Risk, and Audit partners to improve controls, enhance visibility, and deliver scalable processes that support business growth and network modernization.

What you'll do:

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives related to interchange fee legislation, delivering compliant, scalable, and auditable operational solutions
  • Develop playbooks, readiness plans, process documentation, and training materials to support operational execution across internal teams and business partners
  • Analyze financial and operational data to improve performance visibility, support profitability goals, and identify opportunities for cost efficiency
  • Execute and validate interchange fee calculations, manual pricing adjustments, reconciliation activities, and transaction handling requirements across payment operations
  • Partner with Finance, Risk, Audit, Product, Data, Technology, and Legal teams to strengthen controls, maintain audit-ready documentation, and support remediation activities
  • Standardize operational processes and reporting practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare progress updates, risk assessments, and operational outcomes for stakeholders and executive leadership

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in business operations, payment operations, financial planning and analysis, financial controls, data analytics, or financial services operations
  • 6+ years of experience supporting cross-functional projects in complex, high-volume environments with a focus on operational process improvement, controls, and compliance
  • 6+ years of experience analyzing payment network activity, interchange fee structures, transaction accounting, or regulatory requirements within financial services or payments
  • Experience using data and reporting tools such as Alteryx, Cognos, Power BI, Salesforce, Power Query, Advanced Excel, or similar analytics and workflow platforms
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data, produce key performance indicator reporting, and communicate findings to business partners and leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent advanced credential
  • Experience supporting initiatives related to interchange exclusions for tax, gratuity, charitable donations, or similar fee categories
  • Experience automating reporting, reconciliation, or payment processes to improve scalability and transparency
  • Familiarity with enterprise data governance, audit support, or control remediation initiatives

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
