Position Summary

The Trading Operations Analyst will support the North America Power team with market analysis, trading support, electricity cost reporting, and data organization. This rolewill befocused on gathering, cleaning, sorting, and organizing large volumes of power market and facility cost data into clear analysis and concise internal communication. The role is intended for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and interested in building a foundation in power trading, refinery electricity exposure, and North American power markets.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Support power supply planning for refinery and industrial electricity needs across North America.

  • Support the Power Book Lead and trading team with daily tracking of power positions, market exposure, refinery electricity costs, and related commercial activity.

  • Support trading profit and loss, supply and demand models, and position reporting by tracking daily positions and reconciling differences between Traders, Commercial Risk, Operations, Producers, Customers, and other internal groups.

  • Track day-ahead and real-time power prices, forward curves, congestion, basis, load, generation outages, weather, natural gas prices, and other market events that mayimpacttrading performance or refinery electricity costs.

  • Develop andmaintaincommercial models, dashboards, reports, and tools that improve visibility into power market exposure, electricity costs, hedge performance, spark spreads, and trading opportunities.

  • Collect, clean, sort, and organize large datasets from market platforms, ISO/RTO websites, utility bills, internal systems, spreadsheets, and third-party data providers.

  • Provide analytical support for new business opportunities, trading strategies, refinery power optimization, market intelligence, and commercial strategy development.

  • Prepare recurring market updates, position summaries, cost reports, ad-hoc analysis, and presentations for Commercial, leadership, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders.

  • Interface with back office, mid-office, internal business units, and external contacts on new customer setup, trade reconciliation, settlement support, commercial activity review, market intelligence, and issue resolution.

Education,Experienceand Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing,Economics, Engineering, Marine or related disciplinerequired.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Commercial, Risk,Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, or Marketingrequired

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to organizelarge amountsof market, cost, and operational data.

  • Clear and concise written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through.

  • Ability to turn messy information into clean summaries, tables, and action items.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple recurring tasks at the same time.

  • Comfortable asking questions, checking assumptions, and working across commercial, operational, technical, and financial teams.

  • Curious, reliable, and willing to learn power trading from the ground up.

  • Good judgment around accuracy, confidentiality, and business impact.

  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts, and structured data tables.

  • Experience working with large datasets andidentifyingerrors, outliers, missing data, and inconsistencies.
