Job description

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a Data Manager / Analyst to work with us supporting our DHS customer in Washington, DC.  The Data Manager / Analyst supports the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Program by managing, organizing, and analyzing program-related data to inform decisions and improve operational effectiveness. This role ensures data integrity, produces detailed reports and dashboards, and supports the development of performance metrics and data governance policies. 
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Collect, clean, and maintain datasets to support program reporting and analytics.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and streamline reporting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality, integrity, and security standards.
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management and reporting.
  • Support audits, evaluations, and ad hoc data requests.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems or a closely related
  • discipline.
  • Significant information systems experience in lieu of degree. (2 years)
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the following:
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and one or more data visualization tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple datasets and perform detailed analysis.
  • Familiarity with data governance and federal reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Positive adjudication from a CBP Background Investigation.
  • Position requires some travel.
