The Data Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the organization's data operations. This role encompasses the planning, development, and maintenance of dashboards and database systems, while also supporting business continuity through data consistency, availability, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The manager will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application development, optimize performance, and safeguard sensitive healthcare data.
Essential Duties:
  • Manage the overall dashboard inventory in Tableau
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Oversee and manage the offshore database administrators and analysts, including task assignment, performance management, and day-to-day oversight; support potential future expansion to include U.S.-based team members.
  • Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure database security, including user access controls, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Perform regular backups and implement recovery protocols in the event of data loss.
  • Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application development and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes based on business needs.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripts or tools.
  • Ensure data compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure all database-related processes are in compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other patient privacy laws.
  • Assist in implementing security best practices to protect sensitive healthcare data, ensuring data encryption, access control, and audit trails are in lace.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to keep up with new database technologies, healthcare regulations, and best practices in data management.
  • Support and optimize databases used in ETL and data ingestion pipelines, including high-volume file processing and staging environments.
  • Review and tune stored procedures, indexing strategies, and query performance tied to automation workflows.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers on schema design for transactional and analytical workloads.
  • Maintain environments that support file-driven integrations (SFTP, SharePoint, API-based ingestion).
  • Assist in implementing data auditing, reconciliation tables, and lineage tracking for healthcare data flows.
  • Monitor growth trends and capacity planning for high-volume healthcare claim and census datasets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims data, and healthcare databases.
  • Experience with Tableau and data visualizations.
  • Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) is required.
  • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as SQL, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Experience with cloud database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across various geographic locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.

Experience:
  • Minimum of five years' experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment, preferred.

Work Location:
  • Hybrid environment with 3+ days a week in the Atlanta Headquarters with limited travel for in-person meetings and events. ? The employee must have reliable access to internet.?
