Job description

Data Center Technician

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of

critical data center infrastructure. This role has a strong emphasis on structured cabling, fiber optic installation, cable management, and connectivity troubleshooting within enterprise and colocation environments.

The ideal candidate has experience working in data centers, telecommunications, or low-voltage environments and is comfortable supporting both physical

infrastructure and basic network hardware deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, route, label, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Perform rack-to-rack, row-to-row, and cross-connect cabling installations.
  • Maintain cable management standards and ensure clean, organized rack deployments.
  • Install and maintain structured cabling systems following industry best practices.

Data Center Operations

  • Install, decommission, and relocate servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
  • Rack and stack data center hardware according to deployment plans.
  • Support hardware break/fix activities and replacement of failed components.
  • Monitor and respond to infrastructure alerts and service tickets.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cheyenne, WY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
