Job description

The Enterprise Data Specialist is a pivotal role focused on designing, modeling, and mapping data solutions for the enterprise data warehouse. This position requires a strategic approach to data architecture, ensuring robust data models and seamless data integration. The Enterprise Data Specialist will collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to drive data initiatives that enhance operational performance and support the development of an industry-leading data warehouse.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define and document data architecture and modeling needs.
  • Architect and design comprehensive solutions for the enterprise data warehouse. Sourcing data from multiple Insurance and Reinsurance Policy, Treaty, Claim and financial systems.
  • Design and implement Source to Target mappings optimized for high-volume data integration.
  • Create logical and physical data models and implement them on SQL Server platforms.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure accurate translation of mappings into code.
  • Develop strategies for data collection and ingestion and write SQL based solutions to validate data accuracy and integrity in the data warehouse.
  • Analyze and design enterprise data models for optimal reporting. Support reporting teams in understanding and utilizing the data warehouse model effectively.
  • Participate in release planning and validate changes post-deployment.
  • Develop SQL Server views for reporting and dashboard development.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize SQL and Informatica mappings and stored procedures.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of data architecture and design experience working with development team to extract data directly from source applications and loading to an enterprise data warehouse.
  • 3+ years of experience within the Insurance and reinsurance domain
  • Advanced experience with extracting data from Insurance applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL and BI Architectures, concepts, and frameworks.
  • Capable of creating and tuning Semantic layer Reporting Views.
  • Capable of facilitating data discovery sessions involving business subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, DB2, etc.) with experience in generating DDL.
  • Candidate has strong interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Candidate has strong organizational skills and analysis skills.
  • Possess knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center, Guidewire Claims Center, SAP FS-CD & SAP FI-GL applications.
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Information Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
