Job description

As a member of the Architecture team, this individual will be involved in our emerging firm-wide data strategy. The Technical Architect will initially focus in the areas of Systems and Data Integration so expertise in this area is critical. The candidate must not only understand data storage and data warehousing designs, but also the integration and overall accessibility of data. This candidate must have strong architectural background and be extremely hands-on from a development perspective. The architecture approach at the firm is pragmatic and all architects are expected to be able to develop(write code) solutions leveraging the core Microsoft technology stack (e.g. .NET - C#/SQL). The candidate will also be integral to our enterprise reporting needs as we define our enterprise reporting strategy for the firm. An area of focus will be Client Reporting and Performance so experience in this area is strongly desired.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all areas of the organization to define, build and support appropriate data stores.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques as well as usage patterns (e.g. Integration - Real Time & Batch; Federation, etc).
  • Define and build integration capabilities leveraging service-oriented architecture principals for system interoperability.
  • Evaluate tools to better improve our data integration and enterprise reporting needs.
  • Define, build, and support enterprise reporting solution to satisfy the growing needs of the firm.
  • Assists in the definition and maintenance of the technology architecture roadmaps including standards, guidelines, and processes.
    Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Business Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience (10+ years) required.
  • 8+ years' experience in IT Architecture, Software Engineering with a focus on systems integration.
  • Must be detail oriented with outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of database management environments, ideally SQL Server.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Strong experience with classic ETL tools and techniques required.
  • Experience with ESB (enterprise service bus) and SOA architectures a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment with a focus on teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent relationship building skills.
  • Experience in the asset management industry is strongly desired.
