Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Principal Data Insight Analyst to join our team in Palmdale, Ca. The candidate should be a self-starter who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings while consistently maintaining strong connections across the team.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 10% may be required.
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
  • Understand and experience in specifying, collecting, processing and presenting information from potentially several disparate data sets
  • Generate actionable knowledge from data
  • Analyze data sets and quickly developing recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different types of sources
  • Identify patterns and higher-level information from all the data sources through use of tools and application programming
  • Understands the general problem space and is confident in explaining the different insights generated from the data.
  • Translate analytic findings into clear, actionable recommendations and executive presentations with compelling visualizations and narratives
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and lineage for insight-generating datasets through validation rules, monitoring, and escalation processes
  • Prioritize analytics backlog using business impact, technical feasibility, and operational readiness; manage stakeholder expectations and delivery timelines
  • Lead cross-functional analytics projects, coordinating engineering, data platform, and business teams to deliver production-ready solutions

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years with Bachelor's degree or 3 years with a Master's degree or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Hands-on analytics experience, including advanced statistical modeling and experimentation
  • Proficient with MS Office products and Atlassian Suites
  • Experience with pivoting tables, charting, and building nested Excel functions
  • Candidates must be willing to work a dynamic work schedule/ multiple shifts that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends
  • Active Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Be familiar with aircraft systems such as avionics/mechanical equipment as well as other common systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
